In the latest episode, I reminded listeners about Shakespeare's use of dramatic irony. I also mentioned the use of cognitive dissonance and belief perseverance from the ninth episode. But my earliest literary influence was O'Henry. He made the use of ironic twists a trademark of his stories. The mismatch of expectations and reality greatly appealed to me. I ended the episode talking about the irony of having crutches. I even twisted the words together.
