For the month of June, I have talked about adolescent issues I had in high school. I started with my own joke about sound and goodbye. Then I used a quote from the character of Don Quixote. Next, I talked about adolescence and identity challenges.
In this week's RITE OF PASSAGE EXPERIENCES or ROPE, I talked about the Spanish novel of Don Quixote. And the transformation from one identity to another. Then I used a clip of Broadway actor Brian Stokes Mitchell singing about the impossible dream. I also talked about my high school Spanish teacher and how his personal experience in Cuba with an identity crisis helped me.

For the month of June, I have talked about adolescent issues I had in high school. I started with my own joke about privacy. Then I used a quote from writer Ralph Waldo Emerson. Next, I talked about adolescence and advice from Navigate Texas about sexuality and disabilities.
In this week's RITE OF PASSAGE EXPERIENCES or ROPE, I talked about some of my own experiences with puberty and adolescence. I recommended people around those with disabilities help with self management and social management. I also talked fantasizing about Elle Macpherson and masturbation with the 1990 Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month. I started with my own joke about allies and eyes. Then I used a quote from actor Sebastian Stan. Next, I talked about the WHO definition of mental health and the disability mentality. I also talked about the history of ableism, eugenics and being feeble-minded.
In this week's RITE OF PASSAGE EXPERIENCES or ROPE, I talked about my crutches as tools to navigate the world. The disability mentality was not something that I had for myself. The disability mentality existed in other people's minds. I also got help from a teacher who had personal experience with a son with disabilities.

I started with my own joke about how weird and wired are connected. Then I used a quote from Dr. Seuss. Next, I talked about the different types of loneliness. May is Mental Health Awareness Month.
In this week's RITE OF PASSAGE EXPERIENCES or ROPE, I talked about feeling weird and being wired differently. I mentioned the 4 aspects of disability decision-making. After that, I shared a Seuss style poem I wrote recently about being weird. Then I also talked about accidentally pushing over a computer in seventh grade in front of the whole class. I talked about the irony of the computer accident and later working for Nickelodeon.
